Tel Aviv’s cultural map welcomes three exciting venues in 2012: a new addition to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, the renovated Habima Theater and the upgraded Cinematheque. To celebrate the artistic flourishing of the city, 2012 has been declared as “Tel Aviv Art Year”.
A multidisciplinary, one-of-a-kind encounter between musical performances, digital art, screenings of video art and animation, displays, and interactive installations, showcased at 15 different hubs of activity at the city’s art complex – Shaul Hamelech Boulevard, the Performing Arts Center Concourse, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art Concourse, and Dubnov Garden.

A powerful projector illuminates the wall of the new building of the Tel Aviv Museum, casting the shadows of passersby on it. But the shadows subsequently take on a life of their own and appear without their owners. The separation between a person and his shadow is likely to be entertaining, but also disturbing. The projection simply underscores that the audience itself is the art object.
