Layla Lavan – White Night Art Festival in Tel Aviv

Ever since UNESCO proclaimed Tel Aviv – Yafo’s White City – a unique urban and historical fabric – a World Heritage Site in 2003, this proclamation has been translated into large-scale celebrations during which thousands of people roam the city’s streets and stop by cultural institutions – all night long!
Open in summer every year for a whole night (and a few hours before and after) for free or a considerable reduction in hundreds of clubs, shops and cultural institutions and art in the city and there are instances of many types – music , dance, theater, film, video art, group and solo exhibitions and art forms. instances, some of which are held on the open air and sea.

This year, White Night (Layla Lavan) events were banned by many artists and businesses. Boycott was in protest against the violence adopted by city inspectors and police officers in Israel the week before, in social protests.
Every year the White Night festival attended by tens of restaurants offering special menus for the festival, and are open until morning, including submitting breakfast someone who has spent the whole night.
